i would suggest downloading a backup from facebook and then uploading it to google plus.

a cool trick to share your status updates on facebook when you post on google plus...

this does not work with shared links or images or youtube embeds.

find your mobile sharing email id from https://www.facebook.com/mobile/

add this email id as a contact in a new circle.

add this circle to status updates and enable the email sharing option.

statuses would be shared almost instantly.

This initial rush is obviously due to the hype that was created around it. Not just the brand "Google", but the hype too.

google created a hype around it? they did not even promote it. it is only the techie crowd that got excited about it. most people i invited to g+ had no idea what it was. and never returned back to it.

Where did i mention that Google created the hype? I just mentioned that the hype around it was a major factor. Now it can be Google created, or the user driven one.
