As expected TATA did it by adding the extra line on its schemes

All high-speed Internet plans below 256 kbps are not Broadband, as defined by TRAI.[/b]

Thats all....party is over.....forget about us gettin 256kbps and above unless ofcourse Govt comes out with a better warnin that just simply says "remove those speeds under 256Kbps", but at the end of it we shouldn't forget that we are still here in India where people can find loopholes in just abt anythin.

me goin out to get some ALoo Chaat.....bored at work and the internet.

where the heck is the chaiwallah....

told u it wudn't matter. not until the standards raised and ppl expect good and fast connections will we c speeds above 256

yeah, tatas live in some different world......i think all the other schemes are 512Kbps except this unlimited one thats 128Kbps.....All schemes sux though

Till the time there is a collective voice against this idiocy there wouldnt be any change. Fact is the with media prostituting itself and paid media exposures dime a dozen, these companies would take all of us for granted.Who needs higher speeds for? Some of us though. For the rest a fancy price tag for all that is not justified. If you permit me to abuse majority of the users(barring this community of users), most of the people dont really know what "broadband" is. kbps factor speeds? the REAL broadband starts as 2 Mbps onwards.Lest get that STRAIGHT first.Therein these telcos would "donate" us bandwidth...whatever these b*st*rds think we "deserve".

Yep, as you said....REAL broadband is not 256 kbps. In fact, initial TRAI noises indicated it would have been defined as 768 kbps - but some morons felt that it would end up cl@$$ifying NOTHING that is being sold to customers as "broadband" and so decided to lower the bar.So.... ya want broadband as defined by these 32 kbps players, or by TRAI, or by western standards?Nope, sorry.... at this rate, I'd like an upgrade from "broadband" to dial-up please.... :P

Well this is a start, but it would make a very small difference. Companies will continue to advertise it in similar names that deem it as high speed when we truly know it isn't high speed. So yeah. But hey, slowly but surely India will move on closer to real broadband.
