Hard Disk probably on the verge of crashing

So it's become vice versa now. WD is no longer reliable, while Seagate is.

Don't ask me. People have awful experiences with Seagate. This was my first WD purchase and I am not happy with what has happened.

Well, same is the case with me too. I've lost a lot of data because of crashed Seagate drives. WD drives that I bought couple of years ago (4 - 5 yrs to be exact) are running good till now. But friends who bought WD drives maybe in the last one year have reported crashes.

Buy it from Flipkart before the prices go up. A local vendor to my office quoted 10200 for this before I showed him this link last week!! I ordered 2 of these for work...

lol. just realizing. the reason i went for WD was the longer warranty. i mean hell. 1 year warranty on a 9K hard drive that stores 3TB data.

WD is mroe reliable imo. i have had horrible experience with seagate in past few yrs. atm i m using a wd black & wd blue and a wd 500gb in my laptop. havent had issues in about 3 yrs. i have been through 3 segate drives in last 4 yrs. all of them developed some circuit issues and i had to get em repaired. eventually i sold em off.

Yes ..Seagate is the worst! I've had two crashed external HDD's this past 2 months. One was my friends' and other was my sisters' ..both were in warrenty

My WDC 320GB 5400rpm drive crash this month too! Got Hitachi and so far its going strong. Btw no one seems to be interested in Hitachi drives here ? Whats the deal! I got 2 year warranty!

Any HDD can crash , I have only used seagate , never used WD, none of my drives have ever crashed , i have one seagate hdd which is running 24/7 for 6 years & still running great , only HDDs that have crashed for me were OEM Samsung Hdds in my two HCL PCs .
