@vishalrao So I think it's official. BSNL has capped upload speed to one-tenth of download speed like Jio (both mobile and fibre) nationwide.

And this is not controlled locally on each state, I think it's from the main NOC in Bangalore.

Do you think they will un-cap anytime soon?

I dont know. I can just hope that this is a temporary measure due to the cyber attack.

Well for me I am getting equal up and down speeds with 849 plan . But i am facing some frequent outages ,the connection will come only after rebooting the modem.

Im in the process of getting the connection. The guy told me there have been speed issues last 2-3 days and that its because of a cut in cable that goes out of india. Not sure how credible the info is. He mentioned speeds of around 2 mbps.

tcpdump: pcap_loop: The interface went down

My credentials are fine but the PPPoE server is rejecting my connection with "Account is not active" message since yesterday.

Just before this I was also getting an IP from the 61. range and the speed was ~2Mbps or maybe even ~1Mpbs.

Before Friday (when the problem started for me), I was getting ~100 Mbps upload speeds just fine.

That's strange @dhirubhai. Is it intermittent or doesn't work at all?

For me in Kerala, I'm noticing an increased number of PPP disconnects, but it usually reconnects in a minute. Can't comment on the upload speeds yet, as I'm remote.

Hi @varkey

I had the exact same problem (PPPoE disconnects every few minutes) before yesterday. Since yesterday the PPPoE won't even connect - not even once. This problem seems limited to my account only - will ping LCO about it today.

Thanks!
