On CBNCwe presume you guys are young and have no interest in financial markets but we have received diff views from other subscribers (perhaps the sharpness of data makes it easier to decipher for the older generation as well all othe data on one screen). We have to cater to all types of subscribers and we think there is ample HD choice now.

That puts it in a different perspective altogether. Thank you for sharing your viewpoint. We appreciate it.

When are you planning to launch recording feature on Hathway HD?

I think only a software upgrade/update is needed to activate the feature. The manufacturer's website shows that any external USB medium can be attached, however there is scope for the provider to restrict the same to certain brands only. I hope Hathway gives us the required freedom.

Older generation watch cricket too. They need to see the ball and score clearly too. Also without ads between overs. So please, Star Cricket! :)

I have one more question to hathway helpline. Are you planning to add Max HD during IPL? (My previous question is: When are you planning to activate the USB ports on STBs for external recording?)

F1 is starting this weekend. We need ESPN HD too :)

If ESPN and *Cric are added, am gonna take the HD the next day itself!

Hmmm . . . not sure how exactly Hathway functions as a corporation. Called up Hathway Helpline regarding Nat Geo Wild HD and Zee HD addition in Mumbai. The person was unaware that these HD channels existed on the Hathway network. When I insisted Hathway had these channels he went off to check systems and inquire with others in the office. He came back to inform me that Hathway infact didn't have these channels. When I pointed out the fact that Hathway HD customers in other cities had these channels he insisted back that I must be mistaken and it was not possible and rubbished my claims.

While I understand it may take a while for these channels to launch all over etc., what annoys me is the lack of information. More importantly it indicates that since the Mumbai guys dont even know the existence of these channels, there is no work underway regarding their addition. Else I would have been told that its WIP and the channel additions may take a while. This guy was adamant that these channels did not exist on Hathway. And it wasn't this guy alone. I could hear him asking several people in the backgroud. His tone and confidence indicated it was the office's consensus.

CNBC is watched by people during the market hours plus sometime before opening and after closing of market (8 AM - 5 PM). Most of us who follow the markets watch the channel in office, very few watch CNBC after coming back home. It would be better to discontinue CNBC HD and replace it with some other useful HD channel
