Ok, please help me out here. I am subscribed to the Grand Sports Pack for more than one year now. During this time whatever new channels Tata Sky has added, they were automatically added to my pack. I havent paid any extra for them. Plus I have chosen Hindi and Marathi as my free regional channels. And I pay monthly. No annual or semi annual subscription. Now I am getting a HDTV and hence will want a tatasky hd subscription. As I understand from the above discussion, to get a hd channel we have to subscribe to the same sd channel, right? So I already get all the sd channels that I want in my Grand Sports Pack. Does this mean that I will get HD versions of all available channels that are already in my base pack? And how much extra do I have to pay for it?

That is correct. You will need to pay an additional Rs. 100 per month.

edited the title looking at your comment in the first post :) sorry if it was an annoying change from my end.

Nah, it's fine, it finally seems to have got this thread some attention too. :D

Here's a log of what I've done:
~ I went from Supreme Sports Kids to South Sports, dropped all add-on packages (Bengali and Hindi regional packs stay intact)
~ I subscribed to the monthly Kids pack
~ ESPN and Star Sports a-la-carté to complete most of the Supreme Sports Kids Pack without Hindi entertainment and Music channels
~ Subscribed to Star Movies+Star World a-la-carté
~ Subscribed to the "HD Access Fees"

This brings my monthly usage to Rs. 404.
It's a good time for others still sticking around to recalculate their packages in this manner.
I'll wait it out and see what they do with the GSAT-10; if things look to get progressively worse, I might jump ship in a few months.

here s the whole deal:Alacarte SD prices for all 11 HD channels is in total : Rs. 218 (Possible as per 150 lowest barrier of TRAI)HD access fee: 100 bucks.Total monthly cost of 11 HD channels = 318 rupeeesthis is a bloody scam

Awesome - heard anything back from them yet?

Also how are the reviews on Videocon D2H? I see they have like 22 real HD channels in their pack
