WHY sept 1st log on oct 3rd ?
It seems you are not connecting to Internet .
See the thread/s marked "Sticky" at the top of this forum page. for LINUX
Even with WindowsXP pro Sp2 , I am not confident !
Absolute Ignoramus on LINUX
If you have dual booting with XP try to connect to Internet
Then check where is the "bug" with Linux
Avoid Ispci data in future.
We are interested in the modem and router/s used.

hi, Thank you. Noted your points. I would like to know is there any one successfully connected with BSNL Broad Band using Ubuntu ?If so how they succeeded ? What are the most important things to keep in mind? Thanks again for your patience.:cool2:

linmodems.org
Window's modem for Ubuntu? - Ubuntu Forums
Google search Ubuntu+modem.
In a forum, if you don't want to respond to the questions, how the contributers can help you ?
I specifically asked about routers/modems you want to use. No reply.
Asked about the log date/s no reply
I said I don't know ABC of Linux.
By reading your problem and others contributions I try to learn something extra in this forum
So I will wait with you , for responses from other contributer/s
Any reply you give may help to get a speedy reply. Para two :In BSNL web site, did you find the details for the Modem you want to use ?
If yes, where was the problem in going online ?
If no, what is the modem / router you are using?
May be to activate , need not be modem specific.

OK.

My ADSL Router is : UT-300R2U (UTSTARCOM)

I logged in my Ubuntu box and created new report.

Plz check details :
