Hi,

I want to upgrade the RAM on my mac mini from 1 GB to 2 GB.

Currently I have 2 512 MB RAM modules.

I guess I will have to buy 2 1 GB RAM modules and the 512 MB RAM modules will become useless.

I guess that's the price I have to pay.

Here are the specs of my mac mini. I found RAM here. Any idea which of them will be right for me? I also found the method for manually installing RAM. I don't want to go to Apple because they charge crazy prices for RAM upgrade.

Hardware Overview:

Model Name: Mac mini
Model Identifier: Macmini2,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 1.83 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache: 2 MB
Memory: 1 GB
Bus Speed: 667 MHz
Boot ROM Version: MM21.009A.B00
SMC Version: 1.19f0

BANK 0/DIMM0:

Size: 512 MB
Type: DDR2 SDRAM
Speed: 667 MHz
Status: OK

BANK 1/DIMM1:

Size: 512 MB
Type: DDR2 SDRAM
Speed: 667 MHz
Status: OK

^^ You can sell the 512 mb ram modules since they are DDR2 667 Mhz . You can use them on pc too , they wont become useless :)

can you suggest which RAM is best for my situation? Transcend, kingston, apogee or another brand?
