Hi all, I'm Panther and I'm writing from Lucca (Italy).I'm a gnu/linux user from 1998 and I hope to receive and sometime to give my contribution about questions and answers on Gnu/Linux.Bye.

@panther i got a ubuntu live cd version 7.04and a bsnl dataone connection which i am connecting on win xp by usb adsl modem .could u help me getting it connected on ubuntu on usb .

@lightgreen49. Should you not mention the modem you are using ?
Try Google search
google search term
"adsl modem usb drivers for Ubuntu live 7.04"

Problems running ADSL USB Modem 6205 under Ubuntu 7.04 - Ubuntu Forums
what do you mean, it doesn't load? you can't get on the internet? ubuntu is not a big fan of usb to modem connections. does the modem have an ethernet connection? if so, i suggest you use that.

PS: I am a Google/Yahoo/Answers search engines user for anything. . No idea about any flavor of LINUX. ( nor using it as an OS) The information is usually from the search engines!!!!

@essebebe
my modem is siemens dsl modem model no.-Vulcan BSP v0.01 / Vulcan CSP v0.01
now that is what my problem is !!
we all know that connecting internet thru ethernet port is ok in ubuntu
but the problem is that i dont have ethernet port and currently i am connecting it on winxp thru usb port .. the driver for that is avalaible in dataone cd .
i need to know==
1. is it is possible to connect internet ( bsnl dataone) thru usb in ubuntu ?
2. if yes then where can i can find driver for it ?

PS: I use Google/Yahoo/Answers search engines for anything. . No idea about any flavor of LINUX. as already mentioned UBuntu and Usb drivers difficult to locate. An ethernet PCI card ( chinese conexant copy )will cost barely Rs 200/=
