I used to get ~300ms pings to US gaming server. However since last month or so the ping has increased to ~600ms. My online gaming is totally destroyed.
I am on BSNL 899plan with 4mbps up to 8GB plan. Anyone else seeing this issue or any solution to this problem. I am located in bangalore.
www.google.com 595ms
Just noticed that ping to any website is above 500ms..aq

It seems that there is some problem in North Bangalore area. There is road digging work going on for new flyover to airport at NH7 (bellary rd), and this has led to disruption of even basic telephone services for BSNL.Anyone from north bangalore could confirm if they face the same issue?

At what times to you get high pings ?Are the high pings accompanied by packet loss ?Anyway as far as I know pings are typically stable after 8pm up until 11am.Between 12 noon and 8pm there are periods where pings shoot up by 100-200ms; it's probably terrible routing from BSNL causing severe congestion. Often such times are accompanied by packet loss.Other than the above it is very common for your local exchange to restart servers or mess around with something (remember having a backup server is an alien concept with BSNL). This will usually manifest as a complete lack of connectivity (error 674) and/or no modem lights - this again can last anywhere between a few minutes to a few days. There is really nothing you can do to fix high pings. You could get a secondary internet connection to switch to when bsnl becomes unreliable I suppose.

I am located in Jayanagar which is South Bangalore.

There is no packet loss accompanied by high pings. Also noticed that my pings went back to 300ms over the weekend. Now I need to see if they go back up again on the weekdays.

I am in East Bangalore (Whitefield) and issue has increased for me too. Reduced download speed and increased ping time...
