How do you deal with BSNL FTTH complaints?

BSNL FTTH
Hello, I've been a FTTH customer for 2 years and the service is very bad. It's not the cable fault, the signal quality is good at -19dBm.

PPPOE disconnects from time to time even when there's good signal. I tried registering complaints in BSNL portal but everytime it gets resolved without any ground action.

I have contact numbers of Local engineer, junior engineer and taluk head. None of them answer phone calls (even tried with different phone numbers).

I tried registering compliant on CPGRAMS but everytime it gets resolved by some BSNL office in Bangalore saying that the issue is resolved. And for every complaint I get the same response.

I tried calling the FTTH head office and they're arrogant most of the time and ends the call while speaking.

How do you deal with this situation? It feels like nobody is accountable at BSNL. There's no support. The only access to internet for me is through BSNL, I don't have any other fiber or copper connection. Airfiber is not available in my area.

FTTH is down for the last 2 days again and I'm tired of this :(

Mobile network is so weak that I hardly get 900kbps (both airtel and jio). BSNL signal is great but whenever there's power cut, the tower gets switched off as there's no backup power.

Our village has over 100 homes but there's only one tower far way and all the carriers share the same tower.

Same for me also @pothi sure there is regular hiccups on the network but can’t do anything because we all know how bad bsnl routing and servers are but for local problems my JTO is pretty friendly and knows me well also I got all the NIB contacts from JE to SE. This is the catch with bsnl service it depends upon your local exchange and the people working there. After all they are government employees.

@laboreddislodge try locating NIB in your region or ask JTO for JE personal number or you can contact SDM telephone in branch office local problem like this can only be sorted out by NIB people I also once faced problem during fifa World Cup specific website were not opening also not getting the full plan speed even after all my parameters were ok so JTO tried to do all the necessary things then he gave me JE number he took 5 days to resolve the problem they work on Sunday also my problem got fixed on Sunday while I was browsing I noticed increased in speed an at that instance only JTO called me to ask everything is working ok or not. I said yes he told me it was a critical problem and got fixed. Your best option is locating NIB and visit them.

It's sad to hear that your complaint is not getting taken into the consideration.

@laboreddislodge There is only 2 things which you can do if they are not resolving your issue.
1. Change your BSNL Vendor. This type of issue occur when your Vendor is not good and it is the stage where you should contact your Nearby SDO and get your Vendor changed immediately. (Contact SDO don't go for LCO or whoever you trying to contact).
Note* : Choose Vendor which is giving best service in your area so that you don't OPT for poor vendors like you got current one.

2. Change your ISP : If you think BSNL is not taking action properly or considering your issues seriously? It's best to get your ISP Change and switch to one of a reliable one.

If you don't got any Other ISP in your locality and only got BSNL? Getting your vendor change is required.

Here too BSNL towers turn off during power cuts. My primary internet is still BSNL 3g. I use Mikrotik SXT LTE, though. Since this sits on top of the house, it gets better signal than a normal mobile phone. It also has powerful antennas (than a normal mobile). Works in places where there is zero signal on mobile! YouTube contains some sample setups. Might work for you if you don't mind spending extra for one-time purchase of device and the hefty regular monthly bill or recharge.

@pothi What’s highest speed you achieved on the BSNL 3G ? . I’m getting 20-22Mbps after 9pm in mysuru

Highest speed is around 20mbps before 9am. From there, it goes south as the day progresses. The tower is almost 2km from my house. Line of sight matters too. I might not have the direct line of sight, even though the CPE is directly pointed towards the BSNL tower where the antennas may be pointed towards crowded areas.

laboreddislodge...

There are a number of dealers in India. Full list...

MikroTik

All are trustable for the product, but can't say the same for their customers service.

I used to order from Multilink through email. Due to repeated delays, I tried Rectus. Worst customer care and they can't even understand my English. Had to reach out to Mikrotik to get clarified about an issue after buying from Rectus. Currently, buying from FGTech via whatsapp / UPI. If you want to buy online, I'd recommend Indiamart. Remember, in Indiamart, most sellers never quote GST, but include GST only at the fag end of the sale deed. Safe, though. Some dealers are available in Amazon too, but price is a lot higher.

Online price is always higher than what is quoted when contacted directly via email / whatsapp.
