How to access MTNL backroom

Would be helpful if you could post the speedtest.net result. If you notice both the 399 & your 849 NU plan have ‘upto 2 mbps’ and ‘256 Min. guaranteed speed’ as per the tariff sheet. You should be getting about theoretically 32KBps or 2048 kbps, which is usually impossible. If you get about 90% of that you should be satisfied ie 230.4 kbps. Even this is highly unlikely (very few are lucky to get this much) as there are many imponderables which could limit your speed, like distance from the exchange, condition of the last mile connection (copper wire to your house) load on the networks, servers etc. You should be happy if you get about 85% -- 87% of ‘upto 2 mbps’ ie around 1750 kbps +. So you are getting a bit less than you can expect.

Can u check in your router settings at what data rate DL/UL you are synced eg: I am synced at DL 2038 & UL 510 for the 599 scheme (mumbai). For if you are synced at 2 mbps DL then you should complain that you are not getting the reqd DL speed. If you are not synced at 2 mbps then you should complain that you are NOT synced at 2 mbps as you should be

ur DS SNR status is quite good, i think 2048/256 will be feasible on ur line.
Ur SNR will decrease but it shouldn't go below 12 or 10, keep in mind!

Dont demand for 512 Upload speed, ur US SNR is quite low, 512 speed will lead to frequent disconnection
I m using 199 Rs./400 MB plan, still getting 512 Upload.:thumbsup:

when MTNL started 2mbps line I was having 590NU plan so I was not routed to that line.
