UPDATE:
Received my XZ000-G7 back from
TP-Link today.
I am having same issue, I get O5 (Registered) status without cloning my
GPON S/N, the moment I clone my GPON S/N into G7 the LAN link goes down.
So to test this I went over to my friend's house who lives 10km away from my place. He has Seracomm
ONT. When I plugged his SBC cable, G7 shows O2 (Standby) status. Then I cloned his GPON S/N onto G7, in few seconds got O5 (Registered), from
Windows I dialed PPPoE, it connected and internet worked.
To further confirm my suspicion I requested one of my immediate neighbours to let me test it, kind of them, they allowed me to run my test.
I plugged their SBC cable into G7 and it shows O5 (Registered), then I cloned their
Nokia GPON S/N. The LAN link didn't go down this time. I dialed PPPoE using their credentials and internet worked.
Conclusion: Airtel has done something special to my connection. My friend and my neighbour neither have bridge mode enabled on their connection nor they have unlocked or tampered with their connection. It is as it was setup by airtel during the installation. They have only changed WiFi Name and Password using Airtel App. I will call my local technician and lets see what he says.
PS.
MAC address cloning was not neccessary to dial PPPoE. It just worked without any additional efforts.
