Hi folks,

I ordered a smart switch to control my AC with my phone. That’s when I realised how bad JioFiber’s blue router is with respect to the range offered for 2.4GHz. I am currently looking to use my TP-Link router (AC1200 Archer A6) as a repeater for 2.4 GHz to extend the WiFi range across my house. But is there a possibility to extend 2.4 GHz as well as 5 GHz on the same router?

I would like to know the best possible way to do this. Since I purchased the TP-Link router for a local ISP fiber connection this year before JioFiber came to my locality, I’m not interested in buying another extender for this.

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

I'd recommend you to switch on 2.4ghz only on jio router and switch on only 5ghz on A6 and then try.

I have my Jio Fiber router at one side of the house. So it doesn't cover the other side of the house, which is where my A6 comes in. Both are connected via ethernet and I set up Archer A6 with Dynamic IP setting and it works fine without any issues. I have 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz enabled on both but you may want to disable 2.4 GHz or 5GHz on your Jio Fiber router if you're having range issues.
