how to increase speed in bsnl broadband

Hello does anybody know how I can get optimum speeds in bsnl plans I have a bsnl 2799 plan with 8mbps but I do not get more than 2mbps. What do I do?If anybody has a working method pls help

Hi, first of all, plz check ur Downstream Rate in your modem settings at 192.168.1.1(for most modems). Probably it should be mentioned in the 1st page itself. Also mention ur modem that u r using. If the downstream Rate in approx. 2048 kbps as it appears to be most likely case, this might be the real problem.

So plz, share your downstream rate & also the attainable rate also.

then your modem home page address must be something else (if not 192.168.1.1). the downstream rate data can only reveal the real problem.
