Hi, I have the Utstarcom ONT4842W-I FTTH router from BSNL, even in the admin login (utstar/utstar) that the BSNL employee's use, I simply do not have the option to modify/view the DNS for PPPoE connection, and using the BSNL's DNS blocks VoWiFi on our Airtel phones, which is one of the main advantages of having FTTH!
For now to test I took out an older TP-Link wifi router and added it to the ethernet port of the BSNL router, and changed the DNS to the google ones, and VoWiFi works. This TP link router is single band and over 8 yrs old, and I don't want to use it or get a brand new one if I can fix the issue in the BSNL router itself by either opening ports that may be blocked or getting in to the DNS settings somehow in the WAN configuration?
The firmware of the ONT4842W-I is 1.0.3 and the hardware version is ONT4842W-I-2.0, following some discussion here I upgraded the firmware to 1.0.9, and there were no additional options to change the DNS in there, and it made the modem unstable freezing it up after 10mins of use, so I had to downgrade to the stable version.
Any insights would be really helpful!
