I work whole day with STB's but never seen any of them in dream.
As you are working whole day with STB and thats the reason you are not getting any dream on that in the night:hysterical:. Avoid them for a week then you will get a dream on it

Lucky you. You don't carry work home. Some carry home to office.
Since you work on stbs, will you confirm whether ts stb will work to receive fta channels if ts digicard is removed. This was hinted to me by a ts technical guy.

As per my knowledge it should work, but also depends how the software in Tata Sky works. If they dont want their STB's to be used freely they can block it & STB may not proceed if valid digicard or expected satellite signal is not provided.
In UK, we have used SKY STB's (available on ebay) to receive FTA DTH service by BBC/ITV known as FREESAT (Freesat - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) which is just like DD Direct+, (except well advanced with EPG & HD channels too)

A small correction: SD good only for those who want to watch only regional tamil channels. There is a sizable population of young techies and professional from other parts of India who are interested in non tamil news and entertainment channels.
To my knowledge, a sizable number of my friends and relatives are having both sd and ts, sd for tamil mega serials and ts to know what is happening outside tamilnadu.
There are other National news channels like 24X7 etc., as well in Sun Direct along with those HBO, UTV, etc.,. Only problem for now is there is no sports channels.
I had a grander dream; a prism dish which can receive signals from all the satellites in the visible zone, a multi-LNB, and an STB which will accept cards from all service providers, multi channel tuning for watching different programmes and a versatile easy to operate recorder which will ensure that I don't miss even one second. Most important - no subscription, only pay for what you view. I am ready to spend 10000 on capital cost and pay nil on revenue.

Multi operators means multi cards. But your dream stb doesn't specify how many cards can be put at the same time! You don't want to waste a second so it should have all the cards inserted!!
Paying per view but not willing to pay after making the capital expenditure! Paying Rs.10,000 will make you view TS for many many years.
Anyway its a dream so no logic.

I was working on 4 bit microprocessors, but wanted a home desktop computer with 16K memory and 400 MB hard disc costing $500. In fact the first pc purchased by me was 640K RAM, 10 MB hard disc for Rs. 1.25 lakhs.

As per your dreams you don't want to pay! That is why I said about the missing logic in the first and second part in your dream Only one can become true. Pay or no Pay. Not both.
I am not satisfied with TS service in south INDIA. They also removed the one of the best Malayalam News Channel INDIAVISION. SD makes a good move to beat other DTH providers. They Provide 15 malayalam channels in place TS's 7 channels. Anybody have any suggestions?
It is a good move. It will be a good option for you to consider Dish tv also as it has sports channels aswell. Or wait till Reliance launch.

you are literal and missed the spirit! 10,000 and nil have nothing to do with numerical figures. You might have heard - 1000 per month for 16 mbps broadband, it is nothing or Bose speakers for 100,000, it is a steal!
