ICICI Bank to stop sending paper statements from July 2013

In the garb of "go green" icici bank has decided to do away with physical stmts altogether for every savings account customer from 1st July 2013Now they will semd only the annual physical stmt after the end of financial year. Personally i have always thought of this 'go green" campaign as petty fraud done by institutions to cut costs & imply to customer they are doing good for the environment

No hes not cribbing and its easier said than done, one has to get username / password for online banking which at times is a pain ( I personally do not bank online and dont intend to after all the frauds that have been happening ) ... I agree with Ashish that this is a total fraud this go green campaign ...

If you go to the branch, they charge you Rs.112 (Rs.99 + tax) for a statement lol....
If you have a saving account, just get a pass book issued, its a hard copy and stamped.

Is there an official notice regarding this? I do not get paper statements from ICICI already. It has not bothered me much because their online portal lets me access historical statements.

In the last paper stmt i got, it was mentioned in the footnote. can't find any link on their website
