It was just a malware. Most malwares hide with cookies. So if you wipe the browser cookies, that's good enough. You have also scanned with antimalware & removed some. So you 're good to go ...
I don't see a reason for formatting ... Until you have otp, your bank cannot be compromised. Login into your bank account & see if you get that popup again. Mostly you won't ...

i can instal fresh , but i fear the updates windows will ask me after that :numbness:
Btw, you can disable updates or turn into Manual ... Windows updates are crap. Don't know wat os you 're gonna use. If win 7. Win 7 with sp 1 is enough no need extra patches. If xp xp with sp3 is enough no need further patches ...

Also have a habit of imaging your disk or os partition once you freshly installed & updated your os and other softwares. Many imaging tools are out there. Acronis, symantec ghost etc use any one of those. So you could restore the image if there's a need. No need to go through the whole installation process again

Please do not believe this nonsense.

Surprised no one has stated the obvious. Change your internet banking password(s)
What is the point of changing the password on an infested machine? If it is a keylogger will it not again log the keys anyways? and if it is not a key logger would it make a difference?

I just don't wanna start an another debate. But i can still say windows update is not necessary. I nvr evr updated my os. I actually stripped the os to 100 MB iso. Removed all the unnecessary stuff i nvr use. Just kept the sp3 pack. Been running for more than 5 yrs now. It's safe If you know what you 're doing ...

It works for you. Fine. I am not arguing that. But telling people to not install latest updates? I do not think that is a good thing to do. Corporates are not idiots that they upgrade to latest security bulletins Microsoft release.
99% of computer users do not know what they are doing. Just because you are able to keep your own machine safe does not mean others would be able to do the same. And this is why telling them that using an antivirus is not required is also a bad idea.

I mean to say updates beyond service packs are not criticalimportant. Even though they are flagged as critical. A service pack is a bundle of previous patches & other updates. If there are no more service packs. Further minor updates can be ignored. Mean if you have xp sp3. You don't need further bug patches (still windows release minor updates for xp, it will continue until 2016 life cycle). MS already stopped mainstream support for xp, so you won't see any official service pack 4 anymore. Same goes with win 7. There won't be any SP2. You may avoid updates beyond this service packs. It won't affect the performace.

When did I say to change the password on the infected machine? And what if it was a keylogger that has now been removed after he ran malwarebytes?

ICICI Bank has like 4 different layers whenever you do an online transaction.
You need your regular password.
You need your transaction password.
You need the OTP password.
You need digits from your Debit Card.
