I have finally managed to get Idea working on my complaint. I had got an sms which was the same lottery fraud that we know. I registered it & as usual it got rejected. I sent an email to Cyber crime cell, TRAI & a copy to Idea CC, and the Grievance redressal of Idea, mentioning that even Lottery frauds are not being acted against by Idea.
Immediately within 1 or 2 hours i got a call from them, and they asked for the details of the message. The complaint has finally been forwarded to Vodafone Delhi, which is the source of the offender. And after breaking my head with them for 30-45 minutes, i have got an important piece of info which might be helpful to Deepak for setting the logic.
They have asked to include 112 characters from the message content itself, to be sent in the sms. And it should contain as much relevant information, as possible.
So my suggestion is that most of the times the first 112 characters should be descriptive enough. So the logic can be set accordingly. If for some reason it gets rejected, i can manually modify the content and send. I think i m asking for too much - but is there any way wherein we can modify the message that is being sent through the app? If that functionality can be added, then nothing like it!
Nice. You know what, if you can go to such lengths, adding a small functionality shouldn't be too much for me. I will add a editable text box that contains the outbound message. But you have to be patient. Expect an update early next week.
And this gives me another Idea. I should try to contact TRAI about the confusing message format. *Maybe* they will listen to me. Next I can ask operators to use the same format. Long process but let me give it a shot. Can you send me the email you are talking about above?
The sms complaint still doesnt work for in VF. Have to register the complain via calling the 1909.
Can you please tell me which (telecom)circle are you in? And also the error message you got or perhaps the format you know works.
