I sent a speed post from gurgaon to panchkula on 19th october. Still stuck in Ambala. Usually it is pretty fast.

Even I sent through Speed Post.

Right. Took them 9 days. Just checked the status again. Courier would have been faster. But I guess it was largely due to 4-5 holidays last week.

Last week they had two holidays. Still this is better than private companies who charge much much more.

Does Express Parcel service still exist there?. Here postmaster says it is not available any more. That is cheaper than Speed Post as per their website.

Not a clue. Dad makes me sent RTI applications through Speed Post. Private couriers usually have trouble locating government offices which do not have proper address. Even then they end up delivering it on the wrong desks. Postmen does a better job here.

wait. you have shipped me the package and it has already reached my place?

India Post is notorious for showing package delivered two days before the package is actually delivered :-/

But he was supposed to ship the package to me today?

That was a different package. Not yours. Sorry for confusion. I have not shipped yours yet.
