@pkmishra - I referred to the 6-for against SAfrica earlier, after ajuravi posted his link, I added that I find just one more 6-for in India for Srinath shows how rare its for seamers to have an impact in India.

Yes, that's true and the BCCI should be blamed for that.It has never ever thought of preparing sporting wickets rather made all of them either rank turners or dustbowls where Mohali is an exception.Even captain now wants each and every pitch at home to be a rank turner or a dustbowl. So, that's the mentality been.
However, it was in the news last year that they're preparing sporting wickets in Dharmsala(Only?) to let the players practise over their before heading for an away tour.
If they want to prepare spinner friendly wickets only then what is the use of playing fast bolwers and medium pacers? They should atleast prepare sporting wickets in place of the flat tracks. This is the main reason why we've not been able to produce great quicks till now as there is no encouragement for them. And due to flat tracks we've been producing great batsmen and will continue to be.

BCCI did try to make bouncy pitches & some ex cricketer was hired to oversee the pitch preparations dont remember who hje was, In Bangalore they hired curators from new zaland to prepare the pitch , the soil was brought from either south africa or new zealand, still the pitxch remained similar to the old pitch , weather conditions probably have something to with it.

I still remember the match where in Srinath took 6 wkts against SA in Ahmedabad but i didnt see that match live....
I guess it was a Saturday and i was in my 11th or 12th class we had function in the school....i was a mad guy following cricket....but some how this match i knew that india is going to loose this match...after the function from my school i went to my friends house which was very close by to see the live match...but there was no live feed in D....i was wondering why there is no feed...then i was hearing the headlines and it gave me big smile after hearing news that India won the watch as Srinath Devasted SA...I still remmber that moment and cherish it...

I see now why Srinath is considered to be India's best fast bowler ever ( Correct me if i'm wrong ) Saw one of those videos where he bowled with so much hostility and also he was unlucky too. Also picking wickets on Indian wickets as well as mentioned by Sabir. Never had the chance to see him in his prime!

Hmmm ... Maybe Kapil Dev. Also we dont much about a lot of players in the pre-modern era (ODI cricket) .... But yes, for sure in the last few decades, he was the best.

Right. So if Australia are looking for some payback there's no better time than now. Absolute belter of a wicket and the only thing that would matter is negotiating the new ball which wouldn't be so hard for them. Its going to be hard time for the bowlers I reckon.

Bold declaration by the Aussies to declare at 237/9 to have just a 3-over attempt today at the Indians...

I don't think Indian captains can think out of the box and do such a thing. Also ensures that you get first use of the pitch with an almost new ball tomorrow.
