Mumbai local trains to get automatic doors?!! Why is it needed? Why waste money?
 
Sirji, Budget me bahut kuch bola jaata hai, hota kuch bhi nahi ;)
 
I have seen that video. But the doors are going to waste so much time.

People hang out so door will never auto-close in Mumbai local train. They will need 1 person per door to push people inside. But where will that person stand on platform? The platforms are so crowded, if he stands close to door either people will push him inside the train or people him throw him away! :D
 
LOL yeah. If you want to get into a train in stations like Dadar and Thane during peak hours, you just need to stand in near the door when the trains arrive. Everything else is automatic :D

Trust that scenario can not change in Mumbai. Platforms are simply too crowded. Automatic doors will not work.

Number of people hanging on doors would amount to one full coach!! If you dont allow them to hang, they will need to add 1 more coach to each train to make up for space lost!
 
Delhi Metro and I imagine Mumbai Metro are doing it already. I do not see why Mumbai Local cannot do it. Sure each train might carry 5% fewer passengers but at least no one would die from falling from a moving train.
 
But Mumbai local train platforms are not designed that way.

Delhi metro has discipline, may be it started that way so people automatically got trained.

Mumbai local people have no discipline of queue and NOW training them is impossible task.
