GMail app doesnt work on vodafone

It works on vodafone pre-paid (at least in Bombay).

It didnt work for me , dont know about bombay but in delhi vodafone provides a WAP proxy setting to access internet and the gmail app works only with a direct internet connection

@netfreakI havent tried Gmail App yet but does it go thru HTTP(port 80) or its based on IMAP (port 143)if 143 then i think i can even do ssh by running sshd on port 143

Not sure about that (port).In my phone if I select HUTCH_GPRS settings then Gmail App does not work. But if I select Hutch4Business then Gmail App works fine.

oh! So u have taken special plan, thats what we are talking abt if u just have WAP activated it wont work.

Mine is pre-paid connection, so plan is whatever default is available.But there are two settings HUTCH_GPRS and Hutch4Business, so if you tweak settings then it should work fine.

i never got settings for Hutch4Business, how to get it? is it rental free?can u pls tell us ur settings, i.e. difference in settings of hutch_gprs and hutch4business. also does it cost higher than 10p/10kb?

There is only 1 package on prepaid so cost should be the same.GPRS stopped working on my phone few months back, went to Hutch shop at Hypercity malad they created these settings.

no there are 2 internet packages from hutch/vodafone, now called vodafone live (wap only) and vodafone mobile internet (full internet)u can confirm by calling IVS (111)i think u have old settings (from hutch), so can u pls go to settings and tell the difference?thanks in advance
