Internet via Bluetooth/data cable

Is it possible to use computer's internet (BSNL BB) in Android mobile via Bluetooth/ data cable?. A friend of mine is asked with me, as he don't want to get a router.

He would have to be around the PC to connect to internet using data cable/bluetooth. So, why bother using internet on phone, just use the PC. Anyways there's a video on youtube that lets you do exactly that.
