I called CC again and they still claim there are no iPhone specific 3G plans. They said they will arrange a call back from their Technical department. I've already talked to their technical team on three different occasions about the same issue. I wonder what they will do different this time except waste some more of my time?

u get the "iPhone" service listed in ur services list? U can see in the previous screenshot its listed there .. I wasn't getting tht listed before .. But after I subscribed to iphone specific 3g plans it started coming there ..I really have no idea y they telling u different thing and told me the different thing ...

Nope.. I checked that yesterday. IPhone doesn't show up under my services.

That's Vodafone CC for you. CC doesn't know half of what is going on in their own company. They are basically reading off a script. There is no one there who can understand and resolve an issue that is not in the script. Not even in their technical department. I think I'll either have to walk into a store or visit their corporate office to find someone who can resolve the issue.

^^Just call up the Nodal Office(r) for everything dude! I totally stopped using the 111 Customer Care :P

Stopped by the Vodafone store today. Talked to the guy who does the 3G demos. Put in a request to activate iPhone services on my SIM. They said it will take 24 hrs for activation. Let's see if tethering works tomorrow.

iPhone services are now active on my SIM. Tethering is working. Since iPhone services are activated my 3G data works with both the APNs - www & iphone. At least I dint have to bother with a configuration profile anymore. The most disappointing part of all of this is that I talked to 2 customer care executives, 2 executives from the technical department and 1 supervisor from the technical department and one executive at the Vodafone Store to get this resolved. Except for the exec at the store, who understood what I was talking about and put in a request to activate iPhone services, all the others failed to even put in a request for activation of iPhone services when I asked them for it. The solution was provided by the customer but Vodafone does not execute.

Good tht its fixed at last .. So it was indeed tht iPhone service issue .. How can customer care be uninformed abt this thing?? Vodafone has make the things complicated for iphone users without any reason ..They r not even official carrier for iphone ..

I'm glad I don't have to deal with their CC anymore. It's a frustrating experience.

Yes.. they are no longer an official iPhone carrier in India. But their people hardly knew how to resolve issues for iPhone customers even when they were an official carrier.

Hi Garfield,

Glad to hear that the issue has been resolved. Please write to us for any further assistance, we'll do our best to help.

Regards,
Vodafone Customer Care

I'm glad too that the issue is resolved. But let's just get one thing straight, you had nothing to do with the issue getting resolved. So please don't make it sound like you did. You didn't even bother to call back after the issue was logged at the link that you posted.
