I have been a user of old Airtel Plan (Rental 349) that gives me 2 Mbps speed without any FUP with data transfer being charged at 1.20 Rupee/MB. I also subscribed to DSL Night top up of Rs 199 for unlimited data transfer during 8:00 PM - 8:00 AM.

Does anyone here still use Night top up plan? Are you getting constant speed of 2 Mbps?

I have been informed by Airtel that condition of my old Tariff Plan is not feasible due to technical limitations.

If anyone else is also facing similar problem, please let me know.

After going through Appellate Authority, i was informed that my old DSL night top up plan is not feasible.

What was Night top up plan? It allowed me to download at 2 Mbps without FUP during 8:00 PM - 8:00 AM. I could easily download 100GB+ monthly. I used the plan for a decade.

Just checked other Airtel Broadband Plans. Now i know why people call it FUPTel (F**k user Policy TEL). I don't know why people take Airtel connection with such FUPtel.

Edit - Now i have already asked for disconnection.

FUPtel retention team called me.

Offered me load of BS plans. Seriously, the way FUPtel is rationing Data is so pathetic. I told them to disconnect my connection.

Keep an eye on your request and ask for updates daily.

I am in contact with appellate authority. And retention team has flatly refused my demand.

I demanded 100 GB high speed data at 2 Mbps at rental not exceeding 999 Rs. Sounds too much to ask?

Look at my present plan which Airtel just shutdown due to technical reasons. I had no FUP and constant speed of 2 Mbps though my downloading was free of charge only from 8:00 PM - 8:00 AM. Rest of the day i kept my internet off because data was chargeable at 1.20 rs/MB. My downloads easily reached 100 GB in a month.

I think i was the only one on Airtel till date having Broadband plan without FUP. Well, the luck just ran out.

Airtel claims they have updated their system and old plan like mine is no longer compatible to their new system upgrades.

An interesting thing about my Broadband plan which just shut down. In this Broadband plan, I paid Rs 6000 to Airtel for their Modem (DSL 220 BX which cost less than Rs 1000 in market)

Edit - By the way, my Broadband plan is from 2006. Wow! I remember when Airtel was carrying out door to door surveys and advanced booking for connections. I recall that since i took Airtel, they have revised their Tariff Plans 6 times in last 9 years. I never thought of migrating to their new plans because of their pathetic FUP. Everytime Airtel comes up with new Broadband plans, it simply raises Tariffs while imposing tighter restrictions with their FUP policies.

Airtel is getting more & more regressive with time. Not getting any better.

you mistook my post. i was telling you about keeping an eye on your disconnection request. airtel is known to delay the cancelation so that they can bill you for an additional month.

and you do not get to demand your choice of plan from their retention team. if you get lucky, they offer you a plan that suit your needs. otherwise you just get the hell out.

Airtel night top-up user here from 2007. No changes in the plan AFAIK from my end.

I'm from TN (Coimbatore to be specific). no FUP or any reduction in speed. My average usage is around 75GB/month. May this is a circle specific plan change.
