Is it advisable to go for BSNL WiMAX ?

today i went to LOC for railtell connection over wimax. He was using 2mbps connection in his own computer wireless of railtell. i checked speed by downloading in browser and it was 200KBps something so idm with 1 connection would be able to reach full 256KBps. i think its quite good speed about latency it was ok not bad. But he told me if i want 10mbps plan then i have to buy cpe worth 9500rs and if i want speed 4mbps then small cpe would work of worth 4000-5000 well i smell bullshit but anyway speed was promising. In wireless download and upload speed ratio is 2:1 so 10mbps plan will give 10mbps download and 5mbps upload. About throttling i did not see any throttling on download speed over browser. I will wait for rjio if rjio will not offer good plan then i will go with 10mbps railwire.

Wimax plans offers max. 512kbps ( means 64KBps) . How you are getting these speeds , Isn't their any cap .

who told you Wimax can deliver max 512kbps ? Bsnl offers upto 2Mbps on WiMAX

I meant Home unlimited plans provides only 512 kbps.

Ya , Just checked plans ; It's pretty much useless for me because BSNL EVDO already provides over 2mbps in my area .

railwire provide their hardware and other billing system to LOC on revenue shared contract. Plans are of fixed price mentioned on railwire website. Now its on LOC weather he gave you connection over fiber or wireless. LOC will only charge you installation charge from his side and rest of fixed price you have to pay which is already mentioned on website.
Go on railwire website, click on tarrif select your state if its available then call on mobile number given for your state on railwire website. these number would be handled by LOC and they will tell you if its available or not in your area.
