i have a 500GB internal + 120GB external. I do warez work mostly and movies and TV series, i seed them for a month and delete them :)with airtel, seeding is really impossible! :(

Am just into Softwares and movies, wont delete them as I like viewing them after some time.@raj2007 How reliable is it to write down the data in DVDs. I always had problems with drives, DVD readers always have problems.BTW most ISPs have low upload speeds so 1:1 is close to impossible.

Sadly,I have Decreased my monthly usage to less than 40GB.
12 Gb for movies, 6Gb for Tv Shows, 5GB Music, 500Mb for updates and Live Concerts Vdos 10GB and 5Gb browsing.
Will make it up to 38GB. Last month usage was 38GB!

I dont Trust DvDs anymore! E-HD is d best option!

P.s: I have Decided not to waste bandwidth! After going through a detail explanation of Mgcarley!

99% works fine for me....even a decade old CD(games) worked flawlessly..
The point is....important files goes to branded DVD's(Moserbaer Pro,Sony etc.,)...movies & games goes in unbranded(cheap) DVD's

That means in last 30 days or so, u have almost Transferred 100 GB......thats worth the connection cost then!!
In last 20-21 days... :P

For the first time ever, I have crossed 100+ GB! 100+ GB was like a dream on airtel. :@
Anyway, I'll (most probably) never cross 70-80 GB per month. This being a new connection I downloaded stuff as I was/am excited...

Paisa Vasool, 100GB what do u usually download???
Yes, total paisa vasool aka VFM! :)

I can't disclose what I download but I can tell you that I keep on seeding @ private trackers whenever my PC is on + HTTP (HF Premium) downloads during the night.

Out of those 100 gigs, around ~40 gigs is seeding. :P

Chaitanya pls explain how can u use 70-80GB per month?

check this on a 1mbos day and 2mbps night connection :-

Whoa!

i think this takes into consideration downloads and uploads ..
Yes, it does.

From the day i got the connection every alternate night(1mbps) i used to switch off my pc. In 18 days my usage is 110 GB(download+upload). Considering my ratio is 1:1 i've downloaded 55 GB, that comes to 3.05 GB per day. I'm paying Rs. 27.5 per day for broadband. It more or less comes to Rs.10/GB. Am i crossing the lines? What say you guys?
Use responsibly. Just saying! :P

a question guys, is it necessary to take the phone connection with the 1099 1mbps unlimited plan? im considering shifting to reliance aswell.
Fixed-line phone along with talk-time worth 50 INR (per month) is FREE. So why worry about the fixed-line phone that's gonna cost nothing extra?

I have 250 GB + 160 GB HDD. I always used to back up the files using Dual layer DVD(8.5 GB). I download normal (700-1400 MB) size movies & Games. My recent download is GTA 4 (13 GB). No porn movies...only mms scandals(1MB-40MB) hardly comes around 500 MB/month. My upload bandwidth is more or less(i always leave it to unlimited) equal to download. That's why the total GB counts more usage.

Ahh this reminds me of the time I had 80+ DVDs filled with movies :P ... Now fed up so normally just fill the good ones onto an E-HD & rest get deleted after watching... Also Started to watch a lot of the TV Shows & movies online instead of downloading... BTW I normally try & download game Rips instead of full ver... For example the ripped ver of GTA 4 which I downloaded is only 5.6GB instead of 13GB :P ... Most of the popular games u can find in ripped versions :) ... BTW the Rs 749 from reliance looks very nice & good VFM... The 1mbps plan is Rs100 more than the MTNL one but I guess thats ok for some ppl... For heavy Downloaders the Rs 1499 1Mbps day & 2Mbps night plan looks Imba :D ... As for me I will be sticking to the MTNL 1Mbps plan for Rs 999 :) ...

A friend of mine who is not(thought so) a heavy downloader has 512 kbps UL BSNL. When i checked the usage of his for the last 30 days it easily reached 100 GB. He too maintains 1:1 sharing ratio on my suggestion. So guys, keep a track on your usage. You will be surprised that you can achieve 100 GB/month easily on a 512 kbps UL plan

With a fixed line phone u get toll free calling to your ISP :hysterical::hysterical:Thats what i use it for.
