@ Admin
Thanks for that!!

thats why these screencaps bro.....check it up - its 5.3 MBytes & not Mbits per second!! And i specifically captured that screen as well. For a 300Kbits/s connection, a speed burst of 5 MBytes/s is Astronomical!! I am not paying a penny in excess of Rs.450pm!!

Heres the summary of my Reliance experience so far:Decided to switch from Air-Tel after 5 years. I e-mailed a connection request to Reliance and since I had a feeling a call to CC would yield faster results, I called up CC and requested there too. The e-mail and call took place on 31st January (Monday). By Tuesday afternoon (1st), no one had contacted me about the connection, so I called up CC again and asked them the status of my request. The CC guy calmly replied to me that they will contact me within 7 days from the date of request. On wednesday afternoon (yesterday) when no one still contacted me, I started feeling impatient and I thought that filing an application in person at Reliance office might be the trick. So I went to the nearest Reliance office from my house and there I found out that they only deal in wireless broadband and that wired BB office is in kadavanthra (around 25 min from my home). Since I didn't have time to go there , I found that office's no. from Rcom website and called them up. The guy on that office told me that it is not necessary for me to come in person - he told that BB applications are done through the Rcom website or through their CC. He gave me another number and told that it is the regional BB helpline. True enough it was - A friendly malayalee was on the other end and I explained the situation to him. He told me that since I already gave an application, it is not necessary to re-apply and that it is normal to take upto 7 days for the BB guys to contact the customer. He told that applications are stored in head office - then the head office dispatches them to respective regional marketing team and the marketing team forwards to service team who checks availability of networks and then customer is contacted.Today afternoon, and still no call. It's been 4 days gone without anyone contacting me and I'm starting to think whether to switch to Reliance. Air-Tel's service and CC were top notch during the 5 years of my use and the only thing forcing me to change is the FUP. Is this an indication of Reliance CC that I'm experiencing?Guys is it normal to take 7 days for Reliance connection guys to respond?? I'm confused here!

BSNL is worth a try. ask around in your locality. what other folks are using and how it has been for them.

This happened to me too...phoned CC & in 24 hrs my area executive called me & said that there is no feasibility in my area(even though it was in my next street...i came to know that later). In a week time i saw bill stickers all over my area offering unlimited broadband. I contacted them over phone, he collected the doc the same day, address verification in 2 days & it took them 7 days to give a broadband connection after "n" number of calls. Keep tryin one way or the other & go for BSNL if nothing happens....

P.S. Do not disconnect the existing DSL until u get a new one. I did that mistake in anger(ofcourse with airtel) & suffered for a few days without internet.

Yes, it's normal (atleast in case of Reliance). However, instead of contacting the CC, I directly contacted the local sales rep. on 26th Jan. He landed up at my place on the 27th as 26th was a holiday. He filled up my CAF on the 27th and my connection was activated the same day! However, installation was done on 28th at my convenient time. So you see, in my case it took just 2 days to get this thing installed and activated. This is the fastest response I have ever seen. In the past, BSNL has taken 4-5 days to activate my connection and airtel 3 days. Later I also received a call from their head office asking whether the installation was done to my satisfaction or not!

TRUE. RELIANCE CC sucks to the core but their internets solid.
Yup, I'm starting to agree with this. There's negligible downtime/sluggishness but overall it's very good. CC sucks though.

My Reliance connection was installed on 28th Feb and my airtel line was completely disconnected (went dead) on the 29th!

My side of story.....gave disconnection order to airtel on 13 Jan...booked reliance on 22 Jan....address verification done on 24 Jan..airtel went dead on 27th Jan..got the reliance connection & line activated on 29th Jan.............so far so good

In my case I logged a request via there site nothing for 24 hrs, then I got the local number of the reliance rep via going to the nearest reliance webworld, these webworld guys will try to sell you the wireless netconnect+ beware just say that you already have it, webworld guys finally gave me a number of the wireline bb sales agent, called him up he told me that he would check the feasibility and get back to me (I know they provide the connection coz the reliance distribution box in on the terrace of our building) and in about 1 hrs the sales rep was at my house, he collected all the documents with Rs 500 check and after 2 days a guy came for address verification and after that the next day the installation was done. The best thing to do is to catch hold the reliance rep guys in your area do mind that they have exclusive sales agents for bb wireline broadband connection and once you catch them things get done really fast.

I am thinking the same, to switch to reliance because of the airtel FUP,
Currently i pay 500 for 512 kbps *Airtel , but the download caps are sick!
So will it be helpful if i go for reliance ?
i download lots of data (As i work for a big forum, *hobby :P)
Also when i download data above 2gb from a FTP server or filesharing it always gets corrupted (like a windows ISO or rars)
I think thats bcoz of my crap speed :P

till a moderator accepts my previous post, i would like to say that airtel CC is fair, its all about service quality in your area. BSNL is too bad here, so only reliance is left for me because of the FUP :(

^^^^Airtel CC is being said as "Decent" by all - few have complained over here - esp. in this thread. Its just that FUP is troubling everyone......
