Is screen protector required?

I guess I won't mind spending the 100 bucks most protectors cost even if the screen is scratch proof.

ZL is supposed to be a rugged phone right?

ZL is the same as Z . except the back panel is not made of glass. its texured plastic. everything esle from the screen to proc is same.
gsm arena specs say the glass is shatter proof and scratch resistant. nto sure if it is corning or gorilla or wat !

Exactly. I used to HV screen protector on torch 2 and when I took it off I felt much better response from touchscreen. That's why haven't applied any on Nexus 4 and just been very careful with it.Also I dont understand how people get their phones screen scratched by sand. I mean where do they get sand from.

Yes. That, and ZL has a slighly smaller footprint than Z with smaller bezels. Also the aspect ratio is slightly different to Z I guess.
I donno what the thinking behind ZL was, but I would think someone not willing to shell out the extra dough for Z, would rather go for ZR than ZL.

i stuck with zl coz i didnt want the glass back panel ! i knw i will break it in two lolz. when i bought it there were only two models z and zl.
aspect ratio is the same.
btw zr is 4.5 inches-no hd display and smaller battery whereas both z and zl are 5 inchers full hd and larger batteries.
basically zl is for those who dont want the glass panel and water proofing. in any case my phone has gotten wet a hell lot of times. i have ended up actually washing the front n back side ! never had a problem even though its not waterproof ! i just make sure the water doesnt enter the top speaker.
zr is not even in the same league as z and zl.

I think the only downgrade the ZR has taken over Z and ZL is the screen size and move from HD to 720p. In fact, it has a similar battery, that too a user replaceable one. GSMarena gave ZR a 62hr rating compared to the 48hrs of the Z. Also, Mugen power has launched a 88$ 4600mah powerpack for ZR that promises double the power of the original. Mindblowing!

If you are heavy mobile gamer then you definitely need a screen protector. I got like two hair line scratches on my Galaxy S2 , Then few months later MC3 was released. The Gorilla Glass was faded badly after 2-4 months of playing MC3. I was lucky that i managed to replaced it within warranty ( my warranty was about to over). Now i have awesome shinny new display with SCREEN protector on !

Right. I suppose it helps with resale value too. Though I doubt it would matter much the way Android phones are going.
