I have DSL broadband service from BSNL and the IPv4 address provided with PPPoE is not behind any NAT i.e. IP address seen in my router is a public IP and not something like 10.X.X.X.

Is this the case with the fiber broadband as well?

please shift your DSL to FTTH ASAP.
You can retain the same number and you will get 1000x better speeds, public IP also, free voice calls.
Nobody uses their copper DSL anymore.

Thanks for the quick reply. Regarding the voice calls, is the SIP gateway accessible only from the broadband connection or could I use it from anywhere like their Wings service?

I am guessing it is an internal only thing and so if I want to use it from outside, I can make use of the public IP and have some PBX forward my calls.

Another question: I forward incoming calls on my landline to my mobile (registered with the 114 service number). Does this still work with FTTH?
