Hi guys,
Last week I obtained a Static IP from MTNL which was required for a couple of work relates accesses. Since then I have been facing weird issues - using the Freedom 800 plan, during the day time when the speed is supposed to be 512 kbps, Wifi connects but no site can be loaded, no app works, essentially nothing works - however signal strength is full and connection is prompt, at the same time etehernet works fine - no issue. Issue is only with WLAN.
When I connect post 11pm - wifi works great, all sites load, apps too work fine... what's the issue? Contacted MTNL 7 times... no solution... all they do it check ADSL...
Can't be a modern or router issue as wifi singal is full and connection is prompt - data transfer is also normal post 11pm... has to be ISP issue...
What can I do to solve this?

What ethernet works? Are you connecting the ethernet cable from the modem to your laptop or are you taking an ethernet cable from one of the free switch ports on the wireless router and connecting to your laptop?

I have an Asus DSLN10E Modem cum Router, so ethernet cable from router to PC/Mac works fine 24 hours... problem in WLAN only during day time....

if internet works during the day using LAN Cable, it certainly a system policy or router policy preventing the access.
if internet doesn't works with cable too, then only MTNL would need to be bugged.
Edit: Just read your reply.
try copying over the settings, and do a RESET of your router, or check if you have any time based filtering option enabled.

Internet works fine with cable 24 hours, WiFi works when speed changes to 2 mbps... what could possibly going wrong with the policies? where should I start troubleshooting? :nonchalance:

I think its something with static ip and dhcp on the router...strange..
Yes think so too... however, have no clue what to fiddle with in order to achieve connectivity, have Pinged the static IP team at MTNL who were very prompt while allotting the static IP, lets hope they can help me troubleshoot it!

Try providing static IPs to your wireless devices instead of DHCP
Fiddle with the DHCP settings
Also I suppose you set your static IP as the IP of your router?

Can't set the static IP as router IP get the following error:
IP Address(xx.xxx.xxx.xxx)or network used in the other interface !!Also, while entering static IP on wireless device - what should be the subnet mask, router, dns? same as the ones used for DHCP?
