this is problem, not solution of speed. higher speed,-more downloading and surfing. and reduced rate-more users.

we haven't good infrastructure of broadband bandwidth.

No I don't think so. We have a good infrastructure coz the optical fiber cable has the capacity to support bandwidths upto 24 Mbps. Only thing is that the servers on the end of these cables should be updated. They should have a huge server such as the one which link-removed has got. Go to www.link-removed.com and see how big their server capacity is (80 Gigabits/s). Yes, the servers can be upgraded, but the question is when and how? since we are all in India...

But you know, there is no point in we all blabbering about this now, cause we are not the the deciding ones and I am not dayanidhi maran to say anything regarding this

We dont have optic fiber (just yet) but ADSL 2+ And i think the infrastructure to be upgraded is backbones (which i think is ok for speeds given to us), routers,DSLAMs..Although most cases Routers and DSLAM's maybe causing the speed problems...

well... i'm kinda skeptical about this whole thing.. we had a lot of chances of increasing our speeds.. but i believe TATA indicom formerly VSNL stopped TRAIL dead in its tracks with a court order.. its supposedly a complex thing..i'm pretty sure that the speeds will remain the same for a few years atleast..but.. it.. did sound very good.. :)

Wow, We people can be so creative at times .......... there was a good news & we extrapolated it in all directions. We all want Speeds. Couple of years ago who could have thought of unlimited 256kbps feat from bsnl ?? But see now. Lets hope that trend should continue...... and we get to taste 1 Mbps connection..... BSNL Style ..(free for 6 months) :)))

firstly we require good competition. DoT should order MTNL / BSNL to unbundle the local loop!

I agree. There should be more competition.
