I currently have a JioFiber connection. As I recently got employed I would need to have the connection under my name to get reimbursed for the broadband costs. I contacted Jio and learned that I must cancel the old connection and get a new one under my name. As I will have to cancel anyway, I would like to consider another competitor and choose the better one.

The 999 plan of JioFiber offers 150mbps speed while Airtel offers 200mbps speed. I don't have a Jio STB so, I don't think I will be able to use any OTT offered with JioFIber. I already have an Amazon Prime subscription for 10 more months and I would only use Disney+ Hotstar even if the OTTs work without an STB. Airtel doesn't realy offer any other OTTs and I don't think I'll use Airtel's OTT app.

So, I request everyone to suggest what option to choose if I primarily want good download speeds and a little bit of customization to use AdGuard DNS.

I have asked act guy to visit tomorrow for installation. I think their ethernet wire is already installed here which was used by previous tenant so just plug it into my router and things should be done.

No installation charges as I have my router and it will be prepaid he said. So I can switch to jio later if required and I can get the connection.

Jio guy is very unreliable I have given him a lot of time. I don't know what the issue but don't feel like requesting him anymore. One good thing is he tried to provide me connection without getting any advance payment so atleast I won't have to worry about getting refund as one person in this building tried jio and never got their refund back.

Airtel is completely out for me as I had doubt about fiber and specifically asked for it before payment but the stupid sales guy just got my payment stuck for no reason.

First impression of act turned out to be poor, they are not able to activate the port switch because of server issue 🤦

Payment and kyc was done in morning. Connection installed at 4pm basically connecting wire to my router as everything was already there.

They had to do one thing of activating connection, which they could not.

edit: finally act got activated.

Act is down from an hour now. It's goes offline during power cut and comes back after a minute once building generators turns on.

Idk wtf happened after power was restored internet went permanently down. My LCO had better uninterrupted power backup solution. If power goes between a transaction or something it will fail.

Really unbelievable how shit internet is at such prominent location.

I asked the installation guy about battery he said it's there. I knew act has reliability issues and could be down for days.

Still it's down from yesterday, let's see what the technician says.

I am thinking to get jio and keep act as backup/secondary connection. It's supposed to be prepaid but they also generate bill ahh I guess will to speak to customer care.
