Just got MTNL Triband

i was wondering that the data rate mentioned in my status page for downstream is 128 kbs and upstream is 256 kbs. shouldnt both be 256 kbs. how could it be changed. is there any remedy for SNR margin and attenuation improvement. i changed the wiring, so there are no intermediate joints in the phone line.

Gotta call them up boy and get it corrected. If u hv 256 Kbps connection then downstream sync rate should be 288 Kbps and upstream 256 KbpsI recently took the 512 Kbps plan and the modem was showing a sync rate of 288 kbps downstream which is the profile that they give for 256 Kbps connections. I had to call the divisional engineer (broadband) to get it rectified (no use calling customer support), he got it recitfied within 3 hrs. The key word that they use here in Delhi for sync rate is profile which for 512 Kbps connection is 576 Kbps downstream and 512 Kbps upstream.However, before calling them up pls check that ur SNR ratio and Line attenuation are withing normal range bcoz that could also cause the modem to sync at a lower then normal speed.

SNR Margin 25 13 Line Attenuation 25 15 guess that is acceptable or is it????. my plan in Triband NU, so that is a 256 kb connection. I have already called CC but u know whats the reply. guess i have to call somebody higher up. thanks

Hmm, my stats r SNR Margin 15(down) 20 (up) Line Attenuation 54 (down) 31 (up)Sync is 288 like everybody.and i still get 30 kbps...lol...so dun think there's too much to these figures. And am 5-6 kms from the N.P. exchange...

dittomax i get is 28du meter shows 27.2 all the time while d/l torrent n bitlord shows 26
