Yes. If he had gone to Airtel outlet, he would have got the same answer and offered a broadband connection with modem free of rent ! and the tech staff would have set up his BB connection by this time.
Now he is still to get BSNL BB connection !
I did not want to spell it out in this forum !!!
Of course, the decision to switch to BSNL is user's choice.

presently in kollam...they tell only type 2 is available for purchase ,,,u just go to the main office...n tell them ur ready to pay for the modem...type 2 will be 1800 rs and type 1 (if available) is 1200 rs....sumtimes they may ask to wait even after u've bought ur modem...just make them understand its urgent n try to c the bsnl customer care manager,...
 
Sorry. out of thread!@/cool_techie_tvm/Last night around 1Am iIhad frequent disconnections on Airtel. Called on Phone CC.This morning around 10AM technician came and replaced the modem splitter and power unit ! and checked the telephone line .I got Beetel 110BX1 latest ( Only LAN Port) instead of Beetel 220BX1(one) !Has more menu options: will update later in Airtel forum.
