Lan shows connected but net not working

Fnds I hv a problem I m mtnl lan connection when connecting to pc it shows lan connected but when opn browser net not working drivers are fully installed even Ihv installated winxp servc pack 2 agn but agn the same problem.. on the other hand when connecting net to my frnd pc it is working . Pls help asap..

check whether your anti virus is blocking net access. Did you install any new programs recently?
Also try other browsers.

Right click connection. Properties. Tcp/IP properties. Set everything to auto.

By the way, the latest version of XP is SP3. Are you sure that your modem is connected to the internet? Is it an always on connection, or do you connect using a dialer?

yeah my modem is connected to net im able to use net via Wifi in my phn

That means the problem is on your computer. Open command prompt & type in
ipconfigWhat do you see?
