Obviously better. Tegra 3 has Cortex A9 cores while MTK6589 has Cortex A7 cores.

A15 is latestThere is tegra 4 but ofcource you cannot get it in this priceQuad core processors used in mobiles like canvas or karboon are made from old technology so they are cheaper and the quad core performance in canvas and karboon is usually is like a A9 dual core phone

Please check again a7 came after A9 means its next gen, yes a15 is the latest but androidfreak was talking a7 vs A9.A9 maybe faster sometimes but a7 consumes less power which is a big requirement in android phones nowadays.
