Hi,

I'm unable to locate/determine the exact hardware specs of this laptop: Yoga 7 AMD 35.56cms - Slate Grey | Lenovo India

Especially interested in the exact wifi and fingerprint reader chip brand and model numbers to confirm linux compatibility.

Any pointers? Tried google/youtube/reddit etc and seems this is a newly launched model so not much info out there...

There's no way to know unless you get a part ID. Internal peripherals change depending on local laws, certifications authority and what not. I can tell you WLAN module is probably Intel AX*00 or Realtek (0.1% chance of being MediaTek). Fingerprint doesn't work or doesn't work well with "Linux distros" (not entirely because of fp drivers), still should work fine with chromium. Most of these aren't included in linux-firmware yet so you'll need to install drivers manually and use at least latest revision of LTS.

AFAIK Thinkpad series are known to work well with LINUX. Wi-Fi should not be an issue. Check for your model if they offer a Linux option , then you can be sure it works well.

99.99% they won't.
1) It is not broken.
2) It has the described features.
3) Any manufacturer replaces apples with apples. They won't give you intel instead of mediatek.

Any ideas about the fingerprint chip model?

@jassalmithu ?
