i had a client, who has a duplex apartment and i needed to configure a wirelsss network for him. I suggested a Linksys broadband router and an linksys access point for the same config.i successfully installed the router and the link had been established between the router and the wireless terminals on the first floor of the clients duplex apartment. I wanted the access point to be installed on the lover level of his duplex apartment so that the entire 2 floors be wirelsssly connected to the internet. i was doubtful about connecting the router to the access point, so i called up the technical support of linksys for help. Instead of giving me proper advice about the secure cable crimping and connection (breathing) of the wireless router and the access point, this technical support guy started beating around the bush asking me to configure, and re configure the router. as much as 10 times i had to reset the accesspoint (hard reset) and then it was till evening till their closing time. later they gave me an option to change the wire because according to them the wire delivered a "pretty High" speed and asked me to get another wire (RJ45 CAT5e) wire of a lower speed. considering this i asked many CCNA certified professionals if they have heard of a Lower speed cat 5 cable. i made up a laughing stock of myself and then myself tried crimping the wire from both the sides all over again. once the crimps were through, i was able to access the internet and the network took off properly. i do not understand what kind of database these CSE 's of linksys india have to offer. they just didnt ask me anything about the crimping and the wiring done. they were just adamant on the points that i was wrong in choosing the "correct" kind of Cat5 Cable.
