How to get the root password for them?

Its root/root for serial console and root/Pon521 for telnet.

Change PON MAC with 'setmac 1 32769 XX:XX.....' and reboot.

Uploaded lastgood.xml with following and reboot, PON is back!

Yes, that password connects to telnet, but there only show and config commands are available. SSH is not available. It was available before I upgraded the firmware.

@jayanta525 @hemant observed the packets overnight. It shows only 1 broadcast packet transmitted from bsnl port while 155000 broadcast received. Not sure what to make of received but seems VLAN changes did work for transmitted.

I just wanna add that newer(?)(imagebuild 2019.11.11) units D401/D301/whatever has only 16MB of RAM. Wrong calculation, reserved mem is too close to 16M
