Welcome to broadbandforum.co
Open speedtest.net and check your speed at Mumbai server.
If possible copy paste the forum link here . Else post D/L U/L and ping data.
Suggestion 1 : Try opendns 208.67.220.220 and 208.67.222.222
both or one of them. Make a copy/note of present BSNL dns entered in modem.
Reference : Select your modem/router
BSNL BROADBAND MAIN MENU

Dear essbebe,

I hav checked my Net speed at speedtest.net and here it is

https://www.speedtest.net

How to use opendns please guide me to do it and how can I copy/note present BSNL dns entered in modem and last "Reference : Select your modem/router" what should I supposed to do. Please help

Login to http://192.168.1.1
if you have an advanced setup, click there, and click on dns
type 208.67.222.222
208.67.222.220

Depending on the model, you will have an option to provide dns. You have to remove the check box 'provide dns automatically', and put in the above details !

Speeds seems good @speedtest. max speed you can get is 2mbps. link-removed wont allow you to download at full speed if you are not a premium user ! try multiple download from different site and check the total speed !

by the way, how did you manage to get 1.2gb of RAM. Hope it is 1GB ! :) 1024MB RAM? then it is 1GB !

hmm..u r getting 2 mbps speed( according to your speedtests)..that is all what u r gonna get on your connection...:)

Dear Appus and my other friends thanks for ur help and support. Previously i used to get 150 kb/s from link-removed and now I am getting 60 kb/s and from other site like zshare previously I get 35 kb/s and now 10 kb/s Why is that so if my download speed is very good. And for 1.2gb ram its a 1gb and a 256mb ram

link-removed has limited the speed for free users to 60KBps.other sites too i think are following this example & it makes perfect sense.for people on UL fast connections abroad(like 8mbps or above UL)in the past they can download from link-removed with fastest speeds possible without having a premium & since almost all home users get dynamic IP they simply restart their modem to continue downloading & since a 100mb file will take only around 1.5 min on a 8mbps connection these people had no need to buy premium but now it doesn't matter whether you have a 1 mbps connection or 8mbps connection you will get 60KBps for free users so those users have to now buy premium if they want to continue downloading from link-removed without waiting for hours just to download 1GB which previously would take only 15 min.
