So i took Excitel fiber connection 2 year back and it was working fine as there were no slow down of speed or any form of packet loss. Even speeds from most of the servers were fine and even download speeds were upto the mark.

But from yesterday i am facing an issue with youtube not going above 100 mbps speed and today i tested test files download that are hosted on aws, they are also not going above 70 mbps.

Additionally fast dot com is showing only 170-180 mbps speed.

I was having issue earlier with ios services not working from last 6 months like Apple maps or icloud upload and its still an issue.

So it seems like LCO is throttling my connection or excitel is having bandwidth issue.

Anyone from hyderabad facing this issue ?

I used to have 400Mbps before, but I always felt paying for anything beyond 300 on excitel is a waste because, it never sustained 400Mbps properly. It peaks for a few seconds, then drops back to 330-ish or lower. Have tried speedtests, iperf3, fast.com, steam downloads etc. Their loaded latencies are poor. But hey, its cheap. Afaik, the LCO doesn't care/throttle. If you can demonstrably show that you are not getting sufficient speeds on speedtest.com, then they may investigate. Once I had an upload speed issue(stuck at 1mbps) , and then they figured that the previous guy replaced my router, but did not change my fiber cable from blue to green (APC to UPC). If you are getting peak speeds at off-peak hours, then it might be loaded network, and not a physical problem. Maybe complaining enough times will get you moved to a new port. For downloads, if it is single threaded, then 8-13MB/s sounds about fair. Excitel is quite poor outside of content it caches/peers directly. Just checked my speeds on 300 plan, on fast.com, 350/240 first time. Once I increased minimum duration of test, it dropped to 290/240. The last time I needed to download my backup from a Europe server, I got a consistent 90-110 Mbps average for hours on a 300 plan, but did notice it dropped to 60-70 Mbps from 7PM to 11PM or so (this was during IPL time, so may be network was loaded).

@Rickysin bro I too wanna test my connection for the same. If I too have this issue I'll make sure to twist their arms and get it fixed. Can you please share more details about how to test? Would be very helpful for me to learn from you guys :)

Most of this speed is utilised for torrent, both up and down goes 400mbps

Second in app downloads such as Apple music prime Netflix touches 400mbps

@rikka99 what's your monthly data usage? Have you exceeded 3.3 TB? If yes then what's your highest ever data usage in a month? Have you ever recieved any calls asking for too much data usage?
I'm in 400 Mbps since December 2022.

That's awesome, do you download games from steam/epic or upload youtube/google drive videos? If yes then how's the speed there? Constant 400?
