Hello,

Please refer to the attachemet as well.

I had raised a query in the Portal asking them to let the customers
know the new packages that would be introduced after June 1st. I got a
call from Tata Sky Customer Care Bangalore (Telephone Number:
22163000) and the executive\'s name was Ms. Vijaya.

I asked her a few questions.
Ques: What are the new packages after June 1st.?
Ans: Cannot reveal now as per TS Policy.

Ques: Based on what is TS going in for packages.?
Ans: Based on customer feedback (I have been a TS customer for almost
2 years and NO feedback calls or mails have been sent.)

Ques: What is ratio of people who wants packages?
Ans: Cannot reveal as per TS Policy.

Ques: Would you tell me why was 14 Zee Channels removed.
Ans: Based on customer feedback

Ques: If i opt for TS Annual Package on May 30, 2008, would you give
me in writting saying \"All Channels presently beamed would not be
withdrawn\"
Ans: I can give you verbal confirmation that it would not be
withdrawn, but due to some business reasons if withdrawn I cant help
it. Since we are Law abiding company we would not do it.

Ques: What kind of law do you people abide too, without consent of
customers TS stop beaming and its at sole discreation of TS what its
customers watches.
Ans. Since you have said that TS is not abiding to law\'s \"I Vijaya
employee of TS would want to bluntly say we cannot assure you, and i
dont want to carry on the conversation with you\"

Ques: Since you have said u do not want to speak, u have made my
decision easier not to stay with TS.
Ans: I am not forcing you to stay.

Bang!!!...Fone disconnected

If you still want more feedback on the kind of service TataSky is
giving to its customer and sincearly want to gather information,
kindly visit Tata Sky DTH - India Broadband Forum and have first
hand information.

Thanks

Hello,

Thanks for such a wonderful response you people have given.
All I can wish u let you people face the same kind of treatment @ ur home for all kind of service you people avail.

Issue 1. So called Nodal Officer Ms. Biji Kumar was supposed to get back with clarifications.
Ms. Biji Kumar is missing. Nor do you people have email usage sense, kindly discard your email ID's and get on to snail mail at least you would have a excuse of saying you haven't received the letter. Despite of reminders no response. WAY TO GO....making it clear TATASKY has earned back its investments and care a dam about the customers.

Had called thrice to your Bangalore Officer to the number given on website. "Would arrange for a call back immediately was the response given"......am still waiting.

Issue 2. Customer Care numbers not responding despite on call for more than 45 Minutes. Looks like Tatasky employees too treated badly hence facing resources crunch.

You people do all sorts of Fan Fare when introducing something. Where is the information about new packages???????
I was paying 300 Rs (approx) per month for Super Saver Pack including BBC, Star Sports, ESPN, Ten Sports, Star Cricket...now have to shell out more than 300. With what considerations has TS raised the prices. Looks like TataSky is all set to close the shop.

If Tatasky understands something called "CUSTOMER CARE" call back.

And I hope Mr. CCOO, Chief Customer Operations Officer takes this into account & would call back.

Theres no hope left with Tatasky......making our life dance to your Jingalala Tunes.......

I have tried this over and over again, Finally i have decided that i'm going to discard my connection as soon as my balance is over. Done with Tata Sky, Done with DTH!!Jhingalala!! :thumb:

This has reference to your email dated 05/06/2008 expressing concern regarding prices on the add on packages and various other issues addressed in the letter attached (LETTER DRAFTED BY KUNAL_JANU).

Further to our discussion we understand that we have addressed your query regarding the new add on packages introduced. You as a subscriber may not be interested in watching the limited or relevant content of these channels or paying for them throughout the year.
Therefore, to give you the choice and flexibility of viewing these channels depending on the content relevant to you, we have made a new separate add-on pack containing these channels seperately. This has also been enabled by the recent changes in the relevant laws affording consumers more choice. The add- on pack is a monthly subscription pack and you as a subscriber have the complete freedom to choose when to subscribe to this pack and when to discontinue.
Further regarding the letter attached on various issue mentioned we would like to infrom you that, we frequently use subscriber feedback to modify our channel offerings thus ensuring delivery of the best offerings to subscribers. We endeavor to balance the varied viewing interests of consumers on an all India basis vis-à-vis specific preferences while simultaneously providing the best quality services at the best prices. Please note that there is unlimited availability of content from various sources however limited transponder capacity and projected increased costs to consumers prevent us from carrying all the available content.
Regarding the active feature not being available on the IPL matches, we would like to clarify herewith the feature is a tool which will enable the subscriber to watch the program or match from different angles and other features, provided the angles are available from the content providers end,as the same was not available with the Set Max the feature could not be used during the IPL.
Also regarding the MGM program we would like to infrom you that these new offers are just a regular marketing schemes such as many companies keep having from time to time and once again there is no effort to hide any information or deny it to any rightful customer who would like to avail the limited period offer as per the terms and conditions of the offer. There were MGM programs earlier which were open to the dealer as well however the current one is exclusively for the help line services.
Different organisations launch different schemes for their new and existing customers. Similarly, various schemes are being introduced by Tata Sky from time to time and we are considering various options and schemes for our existing customers too in the coming future.

We hope the above information clarifies your complaint addressed to us.

Regards,

Nodal Officer

How many times have u read this??

As regards the withdrawal of channels such as India Vision, Amrita TV, DD Podhigai, DD Sapthagiri and Mh1 Shradha channels, we would like to clarify the following:

Tata Sky carries the most popular channels on the platform. Please appreciate that although there is unlimited availability of content from various sources the transponder capacity is limited. Also projected increased costs to consumers prevent us from carrying all the available content. There are more than 400 channels in India and our transponder capacity does not allow us to carry more than 150 linear channels. We, therefore, have to review the content we carry at some frequency to make sure that we carry the most viewed, and the thus the most popular content across languages across the country. We are the first platform to bring to the country such quality channels such as Sun group of channels, TV 5, World Movies, NDTV Imagine, 9X and 9X News, UTV Movies, Neo Sports, BBC Entertainment and C Beebies.

In the last review India Vision, Amrita TV, DD Podhigai, DD Sapthagiri and Mh1 Shradha channels came up as content with extremely limited viewer ship and we did what is required under the regulatory guidelines, we published our intention to drop these channels in papers across the country. Also, DTH operators are required to carry a certain minimum number of Doordarshan channels and the laws also do not require announcing the dropping of DD channels in a press notice, both of which is what Tata Sky has complied with. Please be informed that the Public Notice advertisement regarding the dropping of these channels from Tata Sky has been released in National and regional newspapers on 05/05/2008

We do hope to get more satellite capacity in a few months and will try and include more niche content; including some of the channels we do not have capacity for at this moment.

As regards the drop of certain channels such as BBC Entertainment, BBC World and Cbeebies, ESPN, Star Cricket, Star Sports and Ten Sports which were a part of the base pack. These channels are a part of the new add-on packs with effect from 1st June 2008. We have carried a scroll on the channels concerned for 21 days informing consumers that these would move into a new package. We also sent Broadcast mails (via our alerts on the system) to all homes. Simultaneously, the base price has been revised to accommodate some of these packages.

The basic objective of the exercise is to offer greater flexibility and choice to all subscribers. Should you wish to subscribe to any special channels such as premium sports or premium English language content on BBC then you can opt for the add on packages with the added flexibility that you can pay for the months you want these for. The facility is particularly useful for the ordinary subscriber who is not interested in such niche content. And gives subscribers flexibility to add the channels as and when required and not pay extra when there are no events or special airing on these channels. The details to opt for the add-on pack are mentioned below.
