So, the models I was recommended.

Hitachi:

Hitachi Shizen 4100XHP 1.8 TR - RMRG422HFXO

Hitachi Sumo 3700XXL 2.0 TR - RAS.Y324PCDISL

General:

ASGA18NMWA-B/2026
ASGA18BMAA-BZ/2026

Hard to find exact model online. This PDF might have the relevant info.

Here is the Mitsubishi model numbers. He said that variant might change based on what's in stock lol.

SRK24CW-S6 or SRK25CWX-S6 or maybe something from this year maybe. I guess they just buy what's outdated in thailand and import them for sale locally. They had this model installed in the showroom itself and it did look nice.

panasonic 2T 5S

Have a look at this. You can find the same model in vijay sales or croma as well. Should be sufficient for a 200 sqft room which gets heat from 3 sides. With credit card offers you might be ale to get this for 55k easily, even lower if you can negotiate.

i am probably not going to get it from a multi-brand store. would try to get it through my own ac guy who would as usual crib because it is not his own preferred brand lol. but dekhe. would checkout Panasonic store on tuesday perhaps when i would have a vehicle available at home. 👍

lol why can't these companies make good usable remotes. every fucking ac has a shitty remote. i barely got used to LG window ac remote... split remote is again a mess.

this one does look nice. none of the other models have an app. and since i mostly stay at home, it really makes sense to get an inverter model with higher rating... dekhe. it is however tempting to get an ac with heat pump as well. never used it. but i did find a pretty nice space heater last year which might work well. oil heater would probably consume as much power as the heat pump in ac.

there are hot&cold options from Panasonic, check them out. Do a little research before buying because I have read somewhere that the heat pump models are not that great and not very long lasting.

That's why I don't use the AC remote anymore, app works pretty well.

Not sure why you are even considering non inverter models, I mean sure they will cool the room quickly but inverter ACs are super efficient and have convertible modes too, especially the one from Japanese brands like panasonic and Daikin. You will end up spending a lot more money on electricity if going with non inverter.

lol i am not considering non inverter models. i just listed the model suggested by the three different brand showroom. my ac guy however was also of the view that i should get a non inverter model because top floor sun facing and all that stuff. better to be safe than sorry.

would see what local Panasonic store has to offer next week.

Might as well checkout 2.2T 4S from Panasonic.Huge indoor unit. Saw it today at croma selling for 57k, seemed like a good deal.

your message could have been useful few hours earlier lol. would have checked this model itself.

visited the Panasonic store. there are the three models and prices.

hot/cold 3 star: EZ24CKYFM - Rs. 56800
cold 3 star: EU24CKY3FM - Rs. 52000
cold 5 star: EU24CKY5FM - Rs. 63000

these three are 2T units. the demo unit on display was smaller in size compared to Hitachi etc i saw yesterday. i would try to check the 2.2T unit sometime this week.

so looks like the 2.2T model is from last year. QU26BKYFM. Maybe this is why the store guy did not suggest this. there is a 2.5T model QU30CKYFM from 2026 but price hike is significant. i guess i would stick to 2T series. Should really be enough for my use. I see people with LG ACs on first floor lol in my lane. A lot of houses have Mitsubishi Electric units installed outside. Some are even using Voltas.

store guy as usual did not have the remote for me to check it out. he did give a small demo of the mirai app which seems usable. panasonic remote from the photos online appear to be pretty shit so app would be nice to have. i am leaning towards the 3* Cold only model from the above list. Do not want to get accustomed to climate control. It is already hard to be without AC in summers. Do not want the same for winters lol. 52000+ installation etc. seems like a very reasonable price for an AC with app and decent cooling power.

there is also a 4* 2T 2026 model that he did not tell me about. NU24BKY4W

I would try to visit a Samsung store this week lol. I have to see if wind-free is an option for me lol.

(I have time to decide because the second floor is still occupied by a tenant. i might only shift upstairs in september or october so might not even need to buy this year but you can never tell with the shit weather in ncr.)

If you are leaning towards Voltas, check out their Venus series. Better built and great cooling for Indian weather.
I saw this at vijay sales last year when I was in the market to buy AC. Pune is not that hot compared to gurgaon so went ahead with the cheapest 1.5T from flipkart.
Agree on the Panasonic remote part. Its bad, unusable in the night with lights off.

yeah i am not getting a Voltas lol. i was just saying that people in my lanes have all sorts of ACs on higher floors so it is possible that i am thinking too much into it and any 2T model should be just fine. tenant is using a window ac right now in the same room. i do not know the model or capacity though.
