in each cylinder there is 2-3 kg less lpg if he could stop this fraud, so per year approx 1-1.5 cylinder will be saved, i.e. 1 less subsidy per household(those who don't consume complete limit).

also a lot of people have multiple lpg connections just to buy at subsidesed rate and later sell at premium rate, stopping this will also save a lot of subsidy.

government has already banned multiple connections per household. you can have more than one but you have to have independent floors with independent kitchens. though i guess these requirements are easy to get around.

The household thing is a mixed thing really. Joint families are a norm in our subcontinent. But here three couples living in 3 houses are allowed to have 3 cyclinders. Whereas a house consisting of parents, two children with their spouses and 2-3 grandchildren. i.e. totally about 10 people are allowed to have only 1...

yup. 7 people one cylinder at my place. though with three floors, we can now get three cylinders as all three floors have independent kitchens. #winning
