More more more problems with sify

bitcomet or azureus rock as bittorrent clients!!as to how someone got to your p@$$word.. i don't know.. but here are some tips for preventing this in the future or atleast make it more difficult for them - 1) use a strong p@$$word - get a combination of symbols and use letter in both upper and lower case2) use a sentence to make a good strong p@$$word.. this way nobody can get to it and you can remember it easilyexample - Sify Broadband! s*cks like hell?the p@$$word - SB!Slh?3) Do not click on the remember p@$$word option.. especially if u use a client like supersify.. anybody can see the p@$$ by right clicking on the shortcut..
 
But how safe is sify's authentication :( .THere are so many probs on sify . freq logouts,lan blowsoff at night , poor customercare , Damn doesnt phoneline more consistent sometimes

but now that i come to think about it, when i was facing this problem earlier.. i nagged the cust care executive a lot and finally he told me "use your account now and then call me if there are any problems".. and you know what?? i had allready disabled heartbeat.. and i didn't face this problem again?? what did he do to solve my problem?? do they have a secret switch that they can turn on to nag heavy downloaders?? i dunno.. but god help them if i find out that they do :P
 
Guys Sify is a sh*t ........ I am having all the same disconnections problems still .... ...I used a firewall all night ...still these disconnections are taking place ........ I called up sify and there was a surprise waiting there for me .... I logged in yesterday Night at 22:00hrs and lost my connection at 1:00am .... but the sify CustCare told me I had logged out at 4:00am ???????? that means i am loosing money .... I have asked them to @$$ign a new userid........i mean i had myself manualy logged out at 4:00am but between 1:00am and 4:00 the net was down until I had personally logged out and in again ........ so for 3hrs i lost moneyI am not reallya techie ..... Just tell me what skould i tell the custcare regarding hubs and switches??? i dont even know te diffrence between them ... also i will have to prove that using hubs is not safe how o i do that????

You are most welcome to do that ;)

If all the dozens of people on my LAN can potentially do that without any effort at all, it doesn't even matter whether someone elsewhere gets into my account by cracking my p@$$word lol. Our p@$$words are already too insecure as it is without a switch.

gauravtyagi, and what were you doing till 1 AM? Downloading is it? Coz if you were then the same happens with me and some others. It's as if Sify cracks down on night downloaders who are not on a night 128 connection hehe.
 
yep downloading stuff ,,,,,,,, but i am more than ever determined to get this resolved .... strangely Sify is taking some intrest ... I just had a second phonecall .... i verified to them that the problem still exists ... Also I told them when disconnection takes place the command ping 10.12.132.1 -t works and does not show any losses .... strange ist it..... 10.12.132.1 is my gateway
 
I hope Sify resolves it for you. Because this same problem has become the new scourge for Sify users. And unfortunately it hasn't been resolved for any of us yet I think.10.12.131.1 is the gateway on your CTO/BAs LAN. This issue you are facing is at Sify's own servers, not at the LAN gateway ;).
 
hmmm ... inetbum yaar u cleared a blockage in my mind .... This states that connectivity from my pc and the cable operator is ok ...since 10.12.132.1 is the gateway address of the cable operator isnt it... so sify is really to blame for it .... isnt it...??? So it is really the sify servers that mess up.... I wont rest until this is resolved ... Also when i had a 40kbps pack i had no problem for a month ... it was when i switched to 90kbps pack that the problems began
