The data connection was not able to terminate properly that's why you saw something like that. It is a operator issue. Sometimes you will get the data symbol even after you have disabled data for a minute

Even though both data was off and background data restricted Vodafone kept charging me for data. This happened on both my moto g phones with different Vodafone numbers. Later the issue resolved only when I subscribed to a monthly data plan on one of them, and and asked Vodafone to kill data on another Sim which removed the barred h+ signal that I was getting. Note that it was a BARRED h+ icon since I had switched off data. So now the phone shows no signal for data what so ever.
 
They should discontinue the 8GB model and focus on 16GB model. Sell the shit out of it. With the next version coming next month, the next couple of weeks are crucial.
