Went to one in hyd. It was crowded with people. Had to wait half an hour before getting my turn.

Was told it would cost 4k to change the broken screen(touch was working fine) for a 7k phone.

It used to be 2k two weeks before but now its 4k since moto wants to change whole display unit rather than screen digitiliser.

Would not recommend moto anymore.

What about warranty? Since the device not have any physical damage does it have valid grounds for warranty. I was hoping things get fixed for free.

getting a replacement for a phone in india is probably not going to work out. getting a replacement for a doa phone is hard enough.
plus, they would put your issue to wear and tear unless your phone is a few days old. that's how things are in india.

I will check with the local service center if they don't offer warranty then i don't think i will invest to get it fixed as its not much of a bother, anyways only visible on a black background that too if you focus your eyes otherwise phone is good.

Motorola Service centre in BORIVALI is Worst according to my Experience. Gave my Moto X for a display change and paid around 10k on 18/10/14. Whenever I visit them they give the same lame reason that hardware is not available it will come on Wednesday.
How can I complain to higher authority about my problem.

getting a replacement is a pain in the ass. friend had signal problem. the phone kept on going to airplane mode and was refusing to revert to normal mode. moto g 1st gen.

service center guys said its an hardware problem and hence wont be covered under warrenty even though the antenna is unaccessible to end user. even the company seals were intact. gave us a quote of 3k to replace that. fuck moto india. ive lost respect for them.

we argued for half an hour saying its a manufacturing defect but those a-holes weren't budging.
